I want to spend Christmas in New York
This summer I spent two weeks in America and absolutely loved it, especially New York and Boston.
In August, if you're walking around NY you need to either jump into a fountain or go into every shop with air co. just to cool down - it's so warm and humid. There's a whole different buzz.
But now, with the snow and the lights, NY must be amazing.
I will definitely return in the winter time.
Thinking about christmas gifts....

me, me, me,...
Following on from my previous post, I am in fact applying for a Masters degree.
Just to have the option - you know.
And all of the Universities I am approaching ask for a personal statement/cover letter.
Trying to write 1000 words about yourself is surprisingly hard, especially if you need to sound smart, focused, confident, positive, funny, interesting, interested, hard working...
Why can't I just walk into these Universities, speak to the admissions lady, and just like that she would find out (in about 15 minutes) all there is to know about me.
Simple, no?
don't plan too much
As an 'all day planner' I find myself often thinking about where I will be in 5 years time - my job, my friends, family, home.. I think about it pretty much ALL the time actually.
I got this image from another blog, and I just love it.
Why are we all rushing and worrying so much about getting jobs, getting MA degrees, getting placements... Naturally it is good to think ahead, but on the other hand is it worth so much worrying? Life will come, inevitably, as we go along... we'll make good and bad decisions, but at the end of the day, there's no point planning your entire future, because it will - most likely - not turn out the way you see it.
And that's a good thing I think - isn't it fun not knowing?
All we can do is focus on the Now, and work for what we believe in.

Paris!
After a veeery stressful week where we had to hand in three big projects (which we had been working on for about three months), my friends and I finally had our deserved break in Paris!
I took out some Euros at the bank and the man asked me "Why are you going to Paris?" to which I replied simply "Why not?".
And so we did.
Four ourselves a little flat where we ate Parisian cheeses, drank wine, visited the Louvre, Sacre Coeur, Montmartre, Notre Dame, the Tower, got ill from undercooked quiche, went out clubbing, had tea at Ladurée, strolled through the Champs Elysées christmas market, and generally walked, together, in the cold but beautiful Paris.
It was lovely.

Yo! Sushi
I went to Yo!Sushi the other day with Karolina in Southbank, she had to convince me as I have never been keen on Japanese food (sushi particularly), but turns out I loved it.
The branding is cool, the whole concept is really original and I love the inside of the restaurant! The little plates look like little space ships and the children's chairs are soo cool.
Def. recommend going if you're close to one.
ps. Notice how my nails match the plates?

Seu Jorge!
A couple of friends and I went to Seu Jorge's concert last night, in Camden.
It was a really brazilian night - first, caipirinhas at a brazilian cocktail bar ( luckily we arrived just in time for happy hour), and then the concert. Seu Jorge is really good, he really entertained the audience and left the best songs for last... always a good trick. :)
Good night: Dancing. Laughing. Me locking my finger in the toilet door but was so excited with the song that didn't ever care. More dancing. Train home.

Who knew?
Have I got news for you...
for 19 years I have always Hated raisins. Hate them! They're just so weird, it's like someone sucked out all the juice of grape and called it 'raisin'.
And so I have been taking them out of cookies, cereal, muesli, etc etc since I was a kid...
BUT the other day, whilst working in the library, I got the munchies, and my friend Karine had a little pack of chocolate raisins.... which I tried.. and actually... they were YUMMY!!
Obviously I only liked them because I love chocolate, and they barely taste like raisins at all, but still, a bit of a shock.
